What is the sky saying to you today?

by Terry Long,

What is the sky saying to you today?    One of the things that I have noticed since moving to Ottawa is that the sky is a different shade of blue than the sky in my hometown Hamilton.  I figure it is due to the smog factor because Hamilton has an "industrialized" sky.  The night sky also differs.  Ottawa has more perceivable stars because of the lesser amount of light pollution.  But no matter where you live in the world the bible says that there is something that does not change in either the day or the night sky.  It is the collective voice carrying the message of testimony of the Lord.  It rings out clearly day and night.  It is a fact as stated in Psalm 19:      The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.     Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.     There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.     Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.     Communication is a two way street.  It involves speaking and listening.  Listening to spiritual language involves the spiritual eyes and ears of our heart.  How many times have we song the familiar song, "Open the eyes of my heart Lord... I want to see you".  Wanting to see and hear with your heart and asking the Lord to help you, like in that song,  is only part of the process.  The key to listening is making time to do it,  or dare I say it, learning the discipline of actually listening.       So my question to you is, What is the sky saying to you today?   If you haven't heard anything it is not because the sky has not spoken.

Knowing what the Word says about God's Will for us individually and corporately is an important tool that Holy Spirit can use to bring us to an understanding of how we can apply this tool to our lives. It gives us vision and order. Our priorities become His priorities and we are then able to sustain a life of prayer for our communities as He gives us endurance and patience with joy.
