2010 Olympics: Today's Prayer Points

"Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, O Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. Give ear, O God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy." ~~ Daniel 9:17,181. Because of security issues, Whistler is quite restricted for outreach opportunities.  There are however Christians who are serving as official volunteers, others who are chaplains, there are Christian athletes and coaches, and there are local residents.

  1. Pray for special protection over this spiritual high place that believers there would know the power of God to watch over them and to use them during this season.

  2. Pray for the 24-7 Prayer team that has been on the ground long before the Games began and are seeking to intercede in the streets and in their homes.

  3. Pray for the long-term ministries and congregations who are working in Whistler to win and disciples athletes.2. Security officials were quite concerned over the weekend with the discovery of a map of the Olympic Village in Whistler with lots of notations.

  4. Pray that any terrorist threat would be exposed and prevented.3. It's always darkest before the dawn. God desires to move in Whistler in a mighty way.

  5. Pray that the many prayers already said over the years in Whistler would be activated at this time.

Knowing what the Word says about God's Will for us individually and corporately is an important tool that Holy Spirit can use to bring us to an understanding of how we can apply this tool to our lives. It gives us vision and order. Our priorities become His priorities and we are then able to sustain a life of prayer for our communities as He gives us endurance and patience with joy.
